Try put more zulie in your char n try to upgrade again.

You got "freezes" right. That happen to me before.
Try re login. Open fresh client.

If my suggestion can't fixed. Just wait for couple a day.

if it still doesn't work try to put all the mats in storage log on to another char on the same account ,it worked with me last time so it could work with you x)
