I encountered this problem when I try to separate a weapon and a gem. I'm confused why it says "unavailable space in inventory" when exactly I still have one slot left in my material inventory and have lots of space in my equipment inventory. I know this is just a minor bug but I think it has to be fix.

u need 2 slots free in material

its not like unequipting, even if you have that gem in your inventory it will fail also.

why should I need 2 slots when there is still 1 slot left and it's enough for 1 kind of material?

Maybe because u can recive 2 types of gems ( the gem with the grade u have or the gem with -1 grade)

you have a point but this system applies to all. even if you disassemble equipments, you still need extra slot. bug? maybe, but there are lots of bug that is worth fixing than this.
